Becoming a Member Agency

We welcome your interest in providing assistance to our community! Feeding South Florida is a federally recognized non-profit organization that warehouses and distributes food products only to other federally recognized non-profit agencies.

Although there are no fees involved in becoming a member, the initial requirements for membership are as follows:

  1. Your feeding program has been in place for at least 90 days.
  2. A completed Feeding South Florida agency application.
  3. A federally recognized 501(c) (3) letter indicating your tax exemption status. A state recognized 501(c)(3) is not acceptable.
  4. An operational letter. This letter describes your feeding program in your own words, on your letterhead and signed by the program's director or pastor. Each item listed in this outline needs to be addressed. The items listed are as follows:
    1. How long has / have the feeding program(s) been in place?
    2. The frequency of feedings; i.e., every Wednesday or every third Tuesday of the month, etc.
    3. The number of people receiving food at each feeding. This should be available since your program has been in place for at least 90 days.
    4. What groups of people are you targeting in your feeding program? In other words, what makes the people who receive food eligible for your feeding program?
    5. Who will administer your program? Please list up to four names of people who will be picking up food from Feeding South Florida. Who will be making appointments?
    6. How is your food program funded?
    7. What area do you have designated for food storage? There must be a devoted area large enough to store the amount of food you plan to pick up even if distribution occurs almost immediately. Food storage has to be available in the event that you find yourself in a natural or national emergency right after food pick-up.
  5. An inspection visit from a Feeding South Florida field monitor.

Items missing from the above on your operational letter may delay your application process.

Feeding South Florida places very high value on the relationships it establishes with its member agencies. To get an application or for more information about becoming a member, please contact the Agency Relations Department at your local Feeding South Florida location:
