Becoming a Member Agency

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member agency; we welcome your interest in providing assistance to our community! Feeding South Florida is a federally recognized non-profit organization that warehouses and distributes food products only to other federally recognized non-profit agencies.

Although there are no fees involved in becoming a member agency, the minimum requirements to be considered for membership are as follows:

1. Your feeding program has been in place for at least 90 days.

2. Your program has a federally recognized 501(c) (3) letter indicating your tax exemption status. A state recognized 501(c)(3) is not acceptable.

3. Completed Feeding South Florida agency membership application, including a signed Criteria for Participation document. (Click HERE for application)

4. An operational letter. This letter describes your feeding program in your own words, on your letterhead and signed by the program's director or pastor. (Click HERE for the full list of items which need to be included in the letter.)

5. Ability to enroll in our online program, Agency Express

6. ServSafe food handlers certification

Steps in the Application Process:

1. Contact a member of the Agency Relations Department in one of the locations listed below. They will ask a series of preliminary questions regarding your feeding program.

2. Send all paperwork to:

Feeding South Florida
Agency Relations, Attn: Martha Ferran
2501 SW 32nd Terrace
Pembroke Park, FL 33023

3. Once a file is complete, we may conduct an inspection of your agency.

4. If the agency passes the site inspection, the agency will have to participate in New Agency Training and Agency Express Training.

5. Agency will be given an ID number, Food Bank ID cards, and will be allowed to shop!

*Other factors that are considered for membership are the location of the agency and population served. Please note that meeting the above requirements does not guarantee membership, but are merely requirements for consideration.

Feeding South Florida places very high value on the relationships it establishes with its member agencies. Please contact the Agency Relations Department at your local Feeding South Florida location:
