Nutrition

Welcome to Feeding South Florida’s Mess Hall

It’s no secret that the foods we eat affect us in many different ways. At Feeding South Florida we understand the importance of nutrition and would like to invite you to join us as we learn more about how to be healthy hunger heroes! These updates will keep you posted on what is happening at our Mess Hall and will also highlight resources were you can learn more about nutrition and staying healthy.

February 2012 Highlights

Eating Well On A Budget

Trying to stick to healthy eating habits when money is tight can be a challenge. However, it’s not impossible. The USDA’s ChooseMyPlate.gov has a wonderful list of resources to help families make the most of their food budget. The list includes a sample menu, tip sheets, a recipe finder and other helpful resources. We’ve included their link below along with a few other sites that provide practical advice. Hope you find them helpful!
