Tennant Company Organizes Extra Helpings Event

WHO/WHAT:   

Tennant Company, a Minneapolis, Minn.-based manufacturer of indoor and outdoor environmental cleaning solutions and specialty floor coatings, is teaming up with Feeding South Florida™ (formerly Daily Bread Food Bank) for an Extra Helpings event to provide food for the hungry. Up to 100 Tennant Company participants, as well as Feeding South Florida volunteers, will be at the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Miami to make 10,000 turkey & cheese sandwiches. Feeding South Florida will then deliver the sandwiches to several downtown Miami not-for-profit organizations that help feed individuals facing food insecurity.

Feeding South Florida’s Extra Helpings is a prepared and perishable food rescue program that enables food to be distributed to agencies throughout South Florida. 

Tennant Company selected Feeding South Florida as one of the beneficiaries of its three community-based service projects to be held during the company’s Global Sales Meeting in February in Miami.

Anthea Pennant, director of external affairs for Feeding South Florida, will speak to Tennant Company participants at 12:30 p.m. about the importance of feeding the hungry, and the positive impact that programs such as Extra Helpings can make in the lives of many individuals. 

“We’re very pleased that Tennant Company has chosen to collaborate with us through our Extra Helpings program to provide much-needed sandwiches to South Florida’s hungry,” said Pennant.
