Last Thursday, January 12^th, Feeding South Florida, hosted their annual gala, the “Come Together Event”. The evening took place at the Warehouse in Miami, which showcased the abstract and intriguing Margulies Collection. With restaurants such as The Forge, Asia de Cuba, and China Grill sponsoring the event, the night was complete with a spectacular assortment of drinks and cuisine.

As guests crowded the room by 8pm, they were entertained by the live band, Smiling Gums, and later witnessed the passing of a proclamation given to the charity. As the affair progressed throughout the night, visitors enjoyed each other’s company and the gallery’s art, most with a Bacardi drink or a warm cup of Nespresso in hand.

Nearly one in every six Americans is at risk of food insecurity. Feeding South Florida is a not-for-profit organization that helps feed over a million people seeking food assistance throughout the country. Their mission consists of “providing food and other grocery products; and educating and engaging [the] community to fight hunger and poverty”. Whether it be by donating food or funds to the charity, everyone could play a role in helping those at risk of going hungry.
