Feeding South Florida appreciates your desire to help us change lives one meal at a time. A few key items to consider:
- Anyone age 12 and over is welcome to volunteer, but we do require guardian supervision for children under the age of 16.
- Closed toe shoes must be worn at all times (no heels).
- Volunteer shifts are Tuesday-Saturday, in two shifts: 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please register below as we are not always able to accomodate walk-ins due to space restrictions and pre-booked volunteer groups.
SORTING OF DONATED FOOD
Much of what we do at Feeding South Florida depends on volunteer help in the warehouse. Food donated from food drives, supermarkets and other food industry companies needs to be sorted, checked and repackaged. Volunteers process the bulk of the food in salvage creating a constant need for individuals in this area.
SPECIALIZED PROFESSIONS ADMINISTRATIVE & OFFICE WORK
Volunteers are utilized in the office for all types of tasks. We are always in need of people with computer and typing skills, and friendly faces to help us with our mailings. Volunteers can also assist with faxing, filing and making information packets.
The Operations department is vital to ensuring the timely and safe distribution of product. We are always in need of volunteers to help ensure cleanliness of the warehouse and vehicles, assistance with product rotation in the cooler/freezer, and inventory support.
To register a group, please click on the button above and fill out the required waiver. Once completed, please email email@example.com to ensure your group is registered. The group coordinator is responsible for collecting waiver sigantures prior to arrival at the Feeding South Florida warehouse.
